Fees and trade costs

In short

Three costs exist: the spread on every trade, a commission on some accounts and on shares, and an overnight fee if you hold past the end of the trading day.

Cost When it applies How much
the spread Every trade, at the moment you open it Variable. From 0.0 pips on a Raw account
Commission Raw accounts on forex and metals, and all share and fund positions 7 US dollars per lot, or 0.015% on shares
Overnight fee Positions held past the end of the trading day Varies by instrument and direction, and can be a charge or a credit

Your account type changes two of the three

The tables in each market article show the spread and commission for that instrument, but the figure you actually pay also depends on which account you hold. A Raw account trades tighter spreads and charges 7 US dollars per lot on forex and metals. Standard and Swap Free charge no commission there and carry the cost inside a wider spread. A Swap Free account pays no overnight fee at all. See Choose an account type.

One cost that is not on this page

If you copy another trader, their performance fee comes out of your profit on top of everything above. It is set by the provider rather than by Tradin. See Copy trading fees.

What is not charged

There is no fee to open an account, no deposit fee, no withdrawal fee and no fee for internal transfers. Your own bank may charge you separately for moving money, and crypto transactions carry a network fee paid to the blockchain.

Where costs sit by market

Market Commission
Forex and metals 7 US dollars per lot on Raw, nothing on Standard and Swap Free
Indices None. The spread is the whole cost
Indices and energy None
Crypto None
Shares and funds 0.015% of position value

Which account works out cheaper depends on the market and the moment, because spreads move. Check the live spread in MetaTrader 5 at the time you would actually be trading. See Choose an account type.
