What MetaTrader 5 is

In short

MetaTrader 5 is the only trading platform at Tradin. It runs on computer, in a web browser and on phones, and everything you can trade is traded there.

MetaTrader 5, usually shortened to MT5, is where the trading happens. Tradin provides the account, the prices and the order handling. All three versions connect to the same account, because your positions live on the server rather than on your device.

The five tabs on a phone

Tab What it is for
Quotes Every Tradin instrument and its live prices
Chart Analysing price movement
Trade Your open trades and account balance
History Every closed trade
Settings Accounts and app preferences

The main windows on a computer

Market Watch The instrument list with live bid and ask prices Ctrl and M
Navigator Accounts, indicators and Expert Advisors Ctrl and N
Chart window Live price charts
Toolbox Open and closed trades, balance and the journal Ctrl and T

Performance and multiple windows

You can run more than one MetaTrader 5 window on the same computer, which is common if you manage several accounts or test different strategies. If it slows down, lower the maximum number of bars loaded in your charts, hide instruments you do not use in Market Watch, and close spare charts. A vps is recommended for stable execution.

To connect for the first time, see Install MetaTrader 5 and sign in.

The clock shows server time, which is UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer. It cannot be changed inside MetaTrader 5, so work out the difference to your own time zone rather than expecting the platform to convert it.
