Keep your account secure

In short

Use a long, unique password, turn on two factor authentication, and never share your login details with anyone.

Strong passwords

Use at least 12 characters, mixing upper case, lower case, numbers and symbols. Never reuse a password across sites, so a breach somewhere else cannot reach your Tradin account.

Two factor authentication

Turning on two factor authentication adds a second step at sign in, which protects you even if your password is stolen. Four types are available:

TypeHow it works
EmailA one time code or link is sent to your registered email address
Text messageA one time passcode is sent to your registered mobile number, quick and widely used
Authenticator appAn app such as Google Authenticator generates a code that changes every few seconds. Generally more secure, because it does not depend on a phone network
Push notificationThe Tradin app asks you to approve or deny with one tap, and shows the sign in details so you can spot a fake

Phones also support signing in with a fingerprint or face.

The Support PIN

A Support PIN is a unique, temporary code that confirms who you are when you contact support, so only you can access sensitive account details. It is sent automatically by text message or voice call to your registered number, and is valid for a few hours before a new one is needed. It is separate from your sign in security.

If a code does not arrive, check your spam folder for emails and confirm you have mobile reception for text messages, then use the resend option.

Phishing and your environment

  • Do not share login details by email, message or call.
  • Always type the Tradin address into your browser rather than following a link from an unknown source.
  • Keep your operating system, browser and antivirus updated, and use auto lock on your devices.
  • Avoid public wireless networks when accessing your account. If you must, use a VPN.
  • Check your account activity regularly.

Spotting an impostor

Nobody at Tradin will ever ask for your password. Nobody will ask you to send money to a personal account, and nobody will offer to trade your account for you in exchange for a share of the profit. Anyone doing any of those things is not from Tradin. Report it to support straight away.

If a device is lost or stolen, contact support immediately so unauthorised access can be prevented.
