The History tab in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is where you can view all your past trades on your Tradin account that are now closed. Think of it as your personal trading diary, showing your complete trade record and overall performance.
This is different from the Trade tab, which only displays trades that are still open. If you cannot find a trade in the Trade tab, it is likely closed and can be found in your History.
How to Find Your History
The process is slightly different depending on whether you are using the mobile app or the desktop platform.
On the Mobile App:
Look at the bottom of the screen.
Tap the History icon.
On the Desktop Program:
Locate the Toolbox window at the bottom of MT5.
Click the History tab.
If the Toolbox window is hidden, press Ctrl+T on your keyboard to open it.
What Information You Can See
The History tab gives you a detailed summary of each closed trade. This information helps you analyze your trading performance and decisions. You will find columns showing:
| Column | Description |
| Time | The date and time when the trade was opened and closed. |
| Symbol | The instrument you traded (for example, EURUSD, Gold, or NASDAQ). |
| Type | Whether it was a Buy or Sell trade. |
| Volume | The trade size (lot size). |
| Price | The price at which the trade was opened. |
| S/L and T/P | The Stop Loss and Take Profit levels you set. |
| Profit | The amount of money gained or lost on the trade. |
How to Filter Your History
You can filter your trading history to focus on specific time periods or trades.
On the Mobile App:
Tap the calendar icon in the top-right corner.
Choose a time period, such as Today, Last Week, Last Month, or select a Custom Range.
On the Desktop Program:
Right-click anywhere inside the History tab.
Choose one of the available options:
All History
Last 3 Months
Last Month
Custom Period (choose your own date range)
Filtering helps you easily review your results over specific timeframes and track your trading patterns.
Saving a Report (Desktop Only)
On the MT5 desktop platform, you can export your trading history as a report. This is helpful if you want to analyze your results in detail or keep a permanent record outside the platform.
To save your history report:
In the History tab, right-click with your mouse.
Select Report.
Choose a file format. HTML is recommended, as it opens in your web browser for easy viewing.
Choose where to save the file and give it a name.
Your saved report will include all your closed trades and summary statistics, such as total profit, drawdown, and trade count.
